What-Is-Microdermabrasion?

 ● Many physician offices and spas offer this quick, painless cosmetic treatment that does not require a doctor and has a mild effect on fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots.

● Like a chemical peel, microdermabrasion is a physical method for superficially removing the top layers of the epidermis by lightly sanding the skin with aluminum hydroxide crystals or other similar crystals applied under high pressure; it doesn’t hurt, and some people say it feels like you are being licked by a cat’s sandpapery tongue.

● You may have some redness or swelling around the eyes, but it usually subsides the same day. Each year, about half a million microderm- abrasion treatments are performed.
